Modulation Blues IndieGoGo

my friend marc baker is making a film and there will be some new TRW on the soundtrack! it’s going to be an incredible project spanning several cities and the soundtrack will be released on vinyl (marking the first occasion one of my weird little songs will be on that format).

PLEASE WATCH THE TRAILER & DONATE HERE TO HELP GET THIS FILM MADE. ANY AMOUNT HELPS!

An experimental short film, Modulation Blues, jumps freely betweens scenes, locations and time. The story is unified by a sound-design that includes original music, field recordings of city sounds, archive audio of radio broadcasts, and recorded monologues. The freeform nature of the film will explore the themes of physical media and memory, as the story jumps between the DJ’s last set and his final days in the city.

marc’s tried to convince me that my lo-fi iphone voice memo is suffice for the mood of the film but who knows if i’ll rerecord the song by the time the film comes out

lyrics:

i can’t throw away
everything that reminds me of you
i can’t throw away
everything that reminds me of you

all my trash piling up
all my trash collecting dust

i can’t hide away
i’ve got nowhere to go
i can’t hide anymore
i would not know where to go

i can’t hide back in new jersey
i can’t hide anywhere

we all fade away
withering into dust
we all fade away
like a moonlit dusk

in my car i found your sweater
it didn’t make me feel better

someday i’ll throw away everything
