november? late october? i’m not sure. it’s coming out. i have a new band in san francisco.
we play louder indie rock. same as the last 2 bands i had in austin and philadelphia. i haven’t released anything with a full band outside of the “thank you based god” anthem last year. so it’s exciting to release some more full band jams soon.
i might put the EP on spotify and itunes and all that stuff. but i might just keep it on bandcamp and send out the pretty cassette tapes through the mail. sending old school snail mail is my favorite thing these days.
there’s a little handwritten liner notes booklet/zine with lyrics you get when you buy the cassette. it’s fun to put together something physical and personal. this is the 1st page:
i’ve started using z’s a lot. no clue why. sooo some exciting stuff on the horizon.
i’m printing a short little book/text/essay collection/i don’t know what to call it–it’s a super personal collection of words/journal-y entries i wrote in 2011 and 2012 and it’s called:
sex jams, self help and redemption
for all of you who have heard me sing an r kelly song in the last 4 years, i think you’ll appreciate it even though it’s probably going to make you cry
limited edition (obviously) and all proceeds go to the national abortion fund.
being mastered. i kind of just want to put it out on cassette tapes because i’m on a DIY kick lately and have no real incentive to have a box of 300 records sitting in my room. we’ll seeee
ALSO COMING IN 2014/2015
SINGLE/ZINE/MUSIC VIDEO, PARTY FOULZ EP, TRW T SHIRTS
love you guys, it’s been kinda lonely in SF, if you’re reading this could be cool to comment or shoot me a snapchat or something
soo for posterity’s sake, i shelved the full album LP idea in favor of just releasing lots of songs as singles/EPs this year. the first EP will be out this summer, it’s called homesick and it’s a full band electric affair.
2) whiskey, green tea
3) we fight
4) drifting away
i recorded it in philly before leaving. much thanks to matt schimelfenig for recording us last minute before i left for the left coast. huge amounts of love to bob burdalski (bass), dan warner (guitar) and nick manta (drums) for laying down some pretty damn good recordings.
much love from my new home in san francisco
